Hi, I'm Sarah!
I am the founder of The Making Space, a holistic therapy service based in Canberra and working online with people in various cities across Australia.
I am a registered Art Therapist (AThR), having completed a Masters' Degree in Creative Arts Therapy at the MIECAT Institute in Melbourne. I am also a trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy practitioner.
I offer one-on-one sessions using the modalities of Art Therapy, IFS Therapy, and Eco Therapy.
I have experience working with people of all ages, including adults and children. Sessions can be held online or in-person in the Canberra region.

Art Therapy
The focus of Art Therapy is on the therapeutic process and not the final artistic product. We explore patterns and textures, colours and form. You do not need to be ‘good’ at art to enjoy art therapy and to gain personal insights. Suitable for all ages.

IFS Therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy emphasises self-compassion, mindfulness and acceptance. It helps to bring about inner transformation, personal insight and deep healing. 60 minute and 90 minute online sessions available.

Eco Art Therapy
Eco Therapy uses natural materials as a way of exploring and making sense of the various aspects in a person’s life, and helps develop conscious connection between people and place in order to encourage positive mental health and sense of meaningful purpose.

Working with adults, children and adolescents, The Making Space offers the following services:
Individual Art Therapy Sessions - mobile service (home visits) or online sessions (including NDIS clients)
Art Therapy Workshops within the community (options for groups of all ages)
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS Therapy) - individual sessions, online only
Eco Therapy / Nature-based Art Therapy for individuals or groups of all ages
